A significant and growing part of SGM’s civil litigation practice involves class actions, with a particular emphasis on those arising in the employment context. Some of our recent and ongoing class actions have been brought on behalf of pension plan members seeking their fair share of a pension surplus and retirees seeking health benefits. In addition, SGM has commenced several unpaid overtime class actions on behalf of bank employees and CN supervisors.
