
SGM's Toronto Summer Position for 2012:
SGM's Toronto office is looking for a summer law student to work for the period May to August, 2012 in the areas of labour law and civil litigation. The successful candidate will assist the firm's labour and civil litigators with all of their research and case preparation needs. The work will be similar to that performed by articling students.
The position is open to students who are in their second year of law school.
The deadline for applications is Friday, February 3rd . All applications received on or before February 3rd will be treated without regard to the date of receipt. Applications should include a cover letter, résumé, university and law school transcripts (including results from the Fall 2011 term, when they become available) and may also include written references. Official copies of transcripts are not required - photocopies are acceptable.

SGM's Ottawa Summer Position for 2012:
SGM's Ottawa office is looking for a summer law student to work for the period of May to August 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and updating the book Trade Union Law in Canada, by Peter Engelmann et al., as well as providing assistance to SGM's labour and civil litigators with their research and case preparation needs.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, January 31st. All applications received on or before January 31st will be treated without regard to the date of receipt. Applications should include a cover letter, résumé, writing sample, university and law school transcripts (including results from the Fall 2011 term, if available) and may also include written references. Preference will be given to students who have completed their second year of law school and who have taken at least one course in labour law, labour arbitration or an equivalent course.
