The Impact of International Trade Disciplines on the Proposal for a Public-Private Partnership in Water Filtration

Steven Shrybman, July 2001

In July 2001, Steven Shrybman prepared a legal opinion concerning the potential impact of international trade disciplines on the proposal to establish a public-private partnership to design, build and operate a water filtration plant in the Seymour Reservoir.

Following the submission of this opinion, the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships asked Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP to prepare a response which can be read at the CCPPP website.

In turn, SGM prepared a response to the Fasken opinion entitled "Canada's International Trade Obligations and Municipal Government Authority: Response to the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships".
